Recipe for making plain parathas
Ingredients: 2 cups whole wheat flour (atta) Water (for kneading) Salt, to taste Ghee or oil, for cooking Instructions: Kneading the Dough: In a large mixing bowl, add the whole wheat flour and a pinch of salt. Gradually add water and knead the dough until it becomes smooth and pliable. The dough should not be too stiff or too soft. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for about 15-20 minutes. This helps in making the parathas soft. Divide and Roll: Divide the dough into small lemon-sized balls. Take one ball, dust it with flour, and roll it into a flat, round disc using a rolling pin. The thickness can be adjusted according to your preference. Cooking: Heat a tawa (griddle) or a flat pan on medium-high heat.
